The Schweizer Jugend-Sinfonie-Orchester is a Swiss symphony orchestra of young people, founded in 1969. The orchestra members, around 100 young musicians between ages 15-25 from all regions of Switzerland, meet twice a year for a session of several days of rehearsals for a tour, once in spring and once in the fall.
For this Mother’s Day matinée, they will be playing Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis’ Symphonic Poem “Miške” (“In the Forest”) and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 1 in G minor, op. 13, under the direction of Modestas Pitrenas.
Tickets are CHF 20-78.
