On this Saturday, the skating season opens at Basel's Kunsteisbahn (KEB) at Eglisee. The facility has two outdoor rinks: a full-sized rink devoted to skating classes and hockey training/matches, and a half-sized rink for public skating and, at certain times, pick-up hockey (freies Stöcklen). There is also a domed swimming pool adjacent to the rinks that allows for mixed family fun throughout the winter season.
Entrance is CHF 7.50 for adults, CHF 4.50 for students up to age 25, CHF 3 for kids ages 6-16, and free for kids under age 3.
