Simon Spiess Quiet Tree; Joel Lyssarides Trio

Kulturhotel Guggenheim
Saturday, 14 May

The various trios around the Swiss saxophonist Simon Spiess are celebrating their 15th anniversary this year, and Spiess is releasing his seventh album “Towards Sun” as well as his eighth album “Quiet Tree” in the eponymous formation with Marc Méan on piano and synth and Jonas Ruther on drums.
Swedish pianist Joel Lyssarides studied music in Stockholm and Rome. Since his graduation at age 21, he has been a sought-after pianist, session musician, and arranger. He has played with a wide array of artists such as Anne Sofie Von Otter, Nils Landgren, Sven Bertil Taube, Norrbotten Big Band, and many more, as well as worked as an arranger for Benny Andersson (ABBA), various big bands, choirs, and string quartets. In November 2017, Lyssarides recorded his debut album with his newly formed trio consisting of Niklas Fernqvist on bass and Rasmus Blixt on drums. The music is a reflection of his background in classical music, jazz, and Swedish folk music.
Tickets are CHF 31.00-46.30.
