On her 18th birthday, Fanny Mendelssohn was gifted the Concerto for Two Pianos in E major by her brother Felix, four years her junior. For the Sinfonieorchester Basel’s season opening, the Dutch pianist brothers Lucas and Arthur Jussen will interpret the piece, under the baton of conductor Ivor Bolton. Also on the program is Johannes Brahms' Symphony No. 2, which was composed in 1877 on Lake Wörthersee and delivers pure idyllic nature with a dash of melancholy.
Tickets are CHF 35-105 for adults and half price for youths and students.
