The plot of "Sister Act — Das Musical" is based on the cinema blockbuster with Whoopi Goldberg. Unsuccessful nightclub singer Deloris van Cartier witnesses a murder. Taken into protective custody by the police, she ends up in the supposedly safest place—a monastery! Disguised as a nun, she quickly finds fans among her fellow sisters. Only the strict Mother Superior is not at all enthusiastic about the new convent student. However, Deloris helps the somewhat out-of-tune monastery choir to truly divine singing quality. The gospel nuns' fame draws the gangsters' attention to the troupe. Is Deloris running out of time? Or did the gang underestimate the divine power of a sisterhood?
Great humor and rousing music by eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken ("The Little Shop of Horrors," "The Beauty and the Beast," "Aladdin") make this feel-good musical in the German-language production by Serotonez Switzerland great stage fun for all generations.
