Making music with friends in the unique atmosphere of sacral-baroque venues on the Rhein is the theme of this 19th edition of the Solsberg Festival, which aims to make the deep and beautiful aspects of music discoverable and accessible. The musicians who contribute to the Solsberg Festival have all won major international prizes and can undoubtedly be numbered among the new generation of leading international soloists.
In the Olsberg monastery, two sisters guard a clock that measures the happy time. An ill-advised joke from one of the sisters damages the clock and it falls out of the rhythm of friendship and omnipresent happiness. Will the sisters together with the music and the young audience manage to repair the clock and restore joy? For this children’s concert of the Solsberg Festival, cellist and festival organizer Sol Gabetta and percussionist Marianna Bednarska will be playing the musical and theatrical story “About the clock that measured happy time.” It will be told in the language of percussion instruments and the cello. The two artists will take the audience on a journey with a wealth of sounds and musical styles with works by Gerassimez, Nørgård, Paganini, Nas, Ravel, Piazzolla, and Xenakis.
Tickets are CHF 20 for adults and CHF 15 for children up to age 16. With the “Festival Pass,” you get a 20% discount compared to individual tickets.
