Sound Garden — Basel Brass Ensemble
During the warm summer months, the beats and sounds of the ‘Sound Garden’ resound around the pavilion in the park of the Fondation Beyeler. Every Wednesday evening, you can enjoy the music of local and national acts with cool drinks and an inviting outdoor atmosphere. From jazz and hip-hop to a yodeling choir, the multifaceted music program of Sound Garden in the museum’s park offers a relaxed way to spend a midweek evening. Enjoy the evening breeze as you lay back in the beautiful setting of the serene park and enjoy great music for free from June 24 to July 29.
On the final summer evening of the Sound Garden music series, the Basel Brass Ensemble invites you on a journey through several centuries of musical history. With Jean-François Madeuf and Marc Ullrich on trumpet, cornet, and flugelhorn; Alexandre Zanetta on horn; Emily Saville on trombone; and David Leclerc on tuba, a multifaceted spectrum of sound unfolds, spanning from ceremonial 17th-century tower music to charming opera overtures, salon music, jazz standards, and well-known pop hits. Works by Johann Pezel, Franz Schubert, Charles Gounod, Claude Bolling, and John Lennon combine to create an atmospheric outdoor concert experience.
This event is free and no advanced booking is required. Meeting point is the pavilion in the park.
