More than 13,000 visitors came to the first edition of the spring festival last March. Thanks to the valuable help of exhibitors, partners, and visitors, the festival is developing into an even larger, more colorful, and more eventful meeting place under the motto, “Frühlingsanfang” (Beginning of Spring). Get spring off to a good start and experience in a pleasurable way everything your body and soul need after a winter hibernation!
Marketplace: The Spring Basel 2024 Expo offers exhibition areas under the themes of mobility, living & garden, sports & free time, beauty, security, as well as cooking & lifestyle.
Musical Entertainment: The festival will celebrate the rich local culture and music scene in the Basel region. DJ Maroo plays every day as a warm-up in the late afternoon, followed by exciting live acts such as Anna Rossinelli, Sherry, Emilia Anastazja, Naomi Jet, Fabe, CARVEL, Miss C-Line, as well as up-and-coming newcomers.
Food and Drink: Visitors can look forward to an exciting range of restaurants and food trucks, whether local, international, vegetarian, or selected delicacies—Greek, Indian, Mexican, crepes, or even churros. There is something for everyone! Exhibitors offer selections of fine wines and spirits, innovative thirst quenchers, brewing and coffee culture, as well as local drinks and fruity power drinks.
Children and Families: Spring Basel 2024 offers a colorful program for children and families. The Arlecchino Children's Theater offers a performance for children ages 1-12 every day at 15:00. The shows performed include “Froschkönig” (Frog Prince) and “Haas & Igel” (Hare & Hedgehog). In creative workshops, children can let their imagination run wild. Experienced artists support the children in developing their creative side. Of course, children are allowed to take the works of art they have created home with them. Children can also already paint their own Fasnacht mask for the 2025 in the carnival mask workshop organized by Basel Fasnacht groups (Cliques). There is also a little tractor driving course and daily performances from the Basel’s Circus School.
Youths: For youth, there are a multitude of activities, such as graffiti workshops, breakdance and hip-hop workshops, circus workshops, and more.
Entrance for adults is CHF 10, free for kids up to age 16. Note that you can enjoy free entrance on Wednesday March 6 if you display your 2024 Fasnacht Blaggedde (badge).
