The Canadian alt-rock band Still Eighteen will be on tour in Europe and will be bringing their debut album “Revolution” with them. Consisting of the former singer of Platinum Blonde and Trixie Goes Hollywood, Joey, as well as his wife Karen on drums and daughter Samantha as co-lead singer and bassist, Still Eighteen is a true family band. What sounds like a love story in the movies actually really happened—as a fan in the crowd, Karen noticed Joey at a gig in Toronto and knew immediately that he was “the one.” Moving to a small coastal town in the Dominican Republic sparked Joey's creativity and allowed his songwriting to blossom again.
Musical ability was also in their daughter Samantha's blood. At age 8 she founded her first rock band, Crush, which consisted entirely of girls and often played at Joey's band's performances on the island. In her youth, she began playing bass and writing her own songs. The passion of husband and daughter also extended to Karen. She is now a fantastic drummer and the trio in Still Eighteen was perfect.
In addition to their sensational history, the band has a unique sound—David Bowie meets Pixies. Still Eighteen rocks, and that's why the family combo was chosen from thousands of bands to perform a 50-minute setlist of their own songs at a music festival featuring Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kid Rock, Billy Idol, and other legends. Still Eighteen has now toured Europe several times and appeared as the main act in large concert halls in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and Austria. This month, they are presenting their glam rock/alternative album “Revolution” live in Germany, Switzerland, and Bratislava.
Tickets are CHF 30 in advance and CHF 35 at the door.
