Stimmen Festival —Brushy One String / Anouchka Gwen
When filmmaker Luciano Blotta bumped into Brushy One String in Jamaica, it was immediately clear to him that this man is incredible. This is not only due to Brushy's unusual guitar, which is strung with only one string. Rather, the musician has found his very own way of expression through his unconventional style. The songs by Andrew Chin, aka Brushy One String, who has since released several albums, move somewhere between soul, delta blues, and dancehall.
With Anouchka Gwen, another up-and-coming Basel artist is on the stage in the Wenkenpark. In the spring of last year she released her debut "Utopia" and since then has performed on many stages with her melancholic R'n'B and neo-soul. Inspired by acts like Christine & The Queens, Tame Impala, and Moses Sumney, Gwen explores feelings of despair, powerlessness, and anger and contrasts them with a place to breathe and dream.
Tickets are € 29 for adults and € 14.50 for kids ages 6-12.
