Mick Hucknall and his band Simply Red combine a band history that is now almost 40 years old and includes a large number of top 20 hits, such as "Holding Back the Years," "The Right Thing," "Fairground," and "Money's Too Tight (To Mention)," and over 100 single and album chart success. Hardly any other band has created such an emotional soundtrack of the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, thus gaining a global fan base. Even after decades in the music business, they remain hungry by repeatedly succeeding in developing their unmistakable studio sound. With his characteristic voice, Hucknall seems to effortlessly approach the technique of American soul stars as a British singer. At STIMMEN, the audience can look forward to the perfect mix of soul, funk, and reggae, as well as to the concentrated greatest hits with the incomparable groove.
The supporting band on this evening will be the electropop band ClockClock, who are on the road to success. What began in 2017, found its first climax with the sold-out tour in April of this year. The band's debut EP, entitled “When the Sun Don't Shine,” traces that rise. Hypnotic pop melodies, energetic beats and vocals, the emotional honesty of transporting only what's on their mind, and an almost perfect balancing act between zeitgeist and innovation—that's ClockClock.
Tickets are € 74; standing room only.
