The classic magazine Classica describes the pianist Marie-Ange Nguci as a “consummate artist,” despite her young age of only 25 years. With her simultaneously virtuosic and visionary interpretations, she is currently conquering concert halls around the world. At the concert of the Sinfonieorchester Basel, which is part of the Stimmen Festival Lörrach, she encounters the young Armenian soprano Juliana Grigoryan. Her breakthrough is still to come—so far, she has mainly been active in her home country. She only entered the international stage in the current season, albeit with important names such as Scala Milan. Together with Sinfonieorchester Basel, the two young artists embark on a musical journey that takes them from Spain to the Orient, to the New World and even to the moon… and which includes works by Bizet, Dvorák, and Mozart.
