Sue Foley With Anson Funderburgh
Sue Foley is a living blues legend and the best female blues guitarist in the world next to Laura Chavez. Originally from Canada, this first-class guitarist and singer entered the top-class music scene of Austin (Texas) almost 30 years ago, clearly belonging to the illustrious circle of the great Texas blues women. She is also rightly considered "the finest blues guitar woman." With her latest album "Pinky's Blues" and its predecessor "The Ice Queen," Sue allied herself with local Texas legends like Jimmie Vaughan and ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, respectively. Both albums are certainly among the best of her long career.
For her Groove Now concert in Basel she will be accompanied onstage by one of the best male blues guitarists in the world—Anson Funderburgh. Both know each other very well, both live in Texas, both play Texas blues and are well attuned to each other. There is probably no better guitar duo in the field of Texas blues, and you can only see them at the Groove Now Blues Weeks Basel. They are accompanied by bassist Jon Penner and drummer Corey Keller, a brilliant rhythm section that lays the groundwork for Foley’s great guitar work. All guitar lovers should experience the two Texas blues guitar heroes together on stage at the Atlantis in Basel!
