Sun Deck Sessions at the Atlantis — Sixty Strings

Atlantis Basel
Friday, 16 August

From July 5 to August 30, let yourself be enchanted by a diverse musical program and a unique atmosphere on the roof terrace of the Atlantis, right in the heart of the city. With a drink in hand, you can listen to rousing music on Friday and Saturday evenings this summer. Consider spoiling yourself with dinner before the concert from the legendary Atlantis restaurant, enjoyed on the beautiful roof terrace. The restaurant is open from 18:00, and hot food is available until 21:00. Note that you can only reserve a table on the roof terrace with dinner consumption and a concert ticket. If you reserve the whole table, it's yours for the entire evening.
With guitars, violin, guitar harp, and other instruments, the duo Sixty Strings conjures up a huge repertoire of songs—mostly quiet, intimate acoustic folk songs from the 1960s to the present day. The lyrics are always very important to the duo. Songs by Kate Wolf or Dolly Parton have an important place in their repertoire. The two musicians also play many self-written gems. Yvonne Kühnis received her first guitar at age 16, and the fascination of music and melodies has accompanied her ever since. In addition to the guitar, she also plays the violin, guitar harp, Indian flute, and other instruments. With her incredibly intense, unmistakable voice, she never ceases to fascinate. Werner Pfiffner revises and refines the songs with the necessary musical sensitivity—bringing voices and instruments together. With great empathy, he gives the acoustic duo the necessary warmth, voice, and perfection.
Tickets are CHF 15 in advance or CHF 20 at the door; students receive a CHF 5 discount.
