Join Swiss Discovery Tours (a collaboration between You Belong in Basel (https://www.ybibasel.ch/) and Fresh Air Kids (https://www.freshairkids.com/)) for a lovely spring hike in Baselland, from Arlesheim to the Merian Gärten near Park im Grünen / St. Jakob.
The route begins with a gradual, but steady uphill climb through the wooded areas in Arlesheim. Please bring a picnic lunch and water to be enjoyed before the descent into Muttenz. The final destination of this route will be the impressive Merian Gärten (Basel's Botanical Garden) where you can stop for a coffee at the newly opened Restaurant Iris, if time permits. This roughly 12 km-hike is for those with intermediate hiking skills and will take roughly 4 hours to complete. Be sure to wear comfortable hiking clothes and sturdy hiking boots. If you register but are unable to come for any reason, please have the courtesy to let the organizers know at 078-250-6353. Please also be on time; if you are more than 10 minutes late, the tour will have to start without you.
Note that this is not a child-friendly event. However, if you would like to bring your friendly dog, however, they are most welcome to join.
