On this evening, the Sinfonieorchester Basel, under the baton of conductor Ariane Matiakh, and soloists Axel Schacher (violin), David Delacroix (cello), and Dmitrij Masleev (piano) will be playing Camille Saint-Saëns’ “La Muse et le Poète,” for Violin, Cello, and Orchestra, op. 132;, Sergei Rachmaninow’s “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini,” op. 43, and “Isle of the Dead,” op. 29; as well as Modest Mussorgski’s “Night on Bald Mountain.”
