Experience a special steam train ride on an atypical commuter route—on the old Hauenstein track. In the past, this route was primarily used by locomotives pulling heavy freight trains. From Olten, they drove up the mountain and back down to the turntable in Sissach—back and forth. On this early May weekend, you can treat yourself to a spring steam train ride on this route. The journey will take you on a trip from Olten or from Sissach (or roundtrip) on the steam train, with a free choice of seats. Cost for adults is CHF 36.60, kids ages 6-16 are CHF 15.90, and kids under age 6 can travel for free without their own seat. Round-trip tickets are CHF 61.50 for adults and CHF 30.50 for kids. First class tickets are also available.
