Talk — Tender Architecture: SelgasCano

Vitra Design Museum
Thursday, 08 February
18:30

The Madrid-based architecture firm SelgasCano was founded in 1998 by Lucía Cano and José Selgas. They have become internationally known for their exploration of the relationship between architecture and its surrounding landscapes, as well as their creative use of new materials. A vaccination center in Turkana, Kenya, designed by SelgasCano, was created as a collaborative project and surprises with unconventional solutions. Projects such as the Serpentine Pavilion in London (2015) or a pavilion for the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art (2015) are characterized by an unconventional use of color. In this talk at the Vitra Schaudepot, Selgas and Cano will present their buildings and talk about their close collaboration with Iwan Baan.
