Talk — Barragán Lecture #5: Stanislaus von Moos

Luis Barragán (1902–1988) is widely regarded as the most important Mexican architect of the 20th century. Based on a minimalist approach to architecture and a delicate sense of space, color, and landscape, he created a unique fusion of international style and local traditions. The art historian Stanislaus von Moos is widely known for his incisive analyses of the built environment in all its historical, political, economic, and ideological complexity. Erudite and entertaining, inquisitive and passionate, his critiques of the material culture deepen our understanding of the world we live in. His work is widely appreciated by architects and art historians as well as design enthusiasts and a general readership.
The event will be held in English at the Schaudepot of the Vitra Design Museum.
