Jochen Eisenbrand, curator of the Vitra Design Museum’s exhibition “Plastic: Remaking Our World,” talks with designers Ineke Hans and Helen Kirkum about approaches to recycling, upcycling, and reuse in design, leading to new designs based on the notion of circularity. Hans has recently launched a new edition of her “REX Chair,” which is made from plastic; easily repairable; and in exchange for a deposit, can be returned to the manufacturer. Kirkum produces handmade sneakers that reflect the wearer’s personal history by weaving together second-hand materials.
The talk will take place in English at the Schaudepot of the Vitra Design Museum.
Admission to this event is free; register at events@design-museum.de.
