Dorfkirche Riehen
Friday, 16 May
20:00-22:00

Simone Zanchini is considered Italy's new star on the accordion. After studying classical music, he turned to jazz, where he amazes with his playful speed and lightness. He is constantly experimenting with the tonal possibilities of a midi accordion. Together with Gabriele Mirabassi's wonderfully soft, velvety clarinet, he creates music that is as complex as it is a sensual experience, full of elegance and fascinating playing maturity. Mirabassi, born in Perugia in 1957, is one of the best clarinetists in European jazz. He celebrated his first successes in a duo with accordionist Richard Galliano. In 1996, the artist was voted "Best New Talent" by music journalists in Italy, and contemporary jazz now took hold of Mirabassi.
The Polish jazz violinist Adam Baldych was known as a "child prodigy" from an early age and gained international recognition through his exceptional virtuosity and ability to combine traditional violin sounds with modern jazz elements. After studying in Poland and the United States, he worked with renowned musicians such as IIro Rantala and Lars Danielsson and released numerous albums that were praised by critics. Baldych is known for his creative energy and his desire to constantly redefine the boundaries of jazz violin playing. Today he is one of the most outstanding jazz violinists of his generation.
Tickets are CHF 39.20-79.90.
