The Lazy Poker — 50-Year Anniversary

Atlantis Basel
21:00

One of Switzerland's oldest blues bands, the Lazy Poker Blues Band (LPBB) was founded in Basel in 1975 by a group of enthusiastic young musicians led by guitarist Cla Nett. Singer Roli Frei joined the band, and in 1979 the group became the first blues band in Switzerland to feature a horn section. In the 1980s, the LPBB was one of the most popular bands in the country and played hundreds of concerts in Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy, and Austria. As a support act, they assisted B.B. King, Albert Collins, Joe Cocker, Dr. Feelgood, Climax Blues Band, Mother's Finest, to name but a few. The band's founder and leader, Cla Net, passed away in 2021, and the group disbanded. Fifty years have now passed since the LPBB was founded, and former LPBB musicians are taking this opportunity to celebrate this anniversary with friends and guest musicians at a small festival on the Atlantis stage. Special guests on this night will include Roli Frei (vocals), Pink Pedrazzi (vocals, guitar), Jachen Net (vocals, harmonica), Markus Werner (guitar), and Marcel “Jimi” Aeby from More Experience.
Consider treating yourself to dinner in the restaurant prior to the show (from 18:00-21:00; reserve your table at 061-228-9696 or directly online.
