The Lion King — The Music Live in Concert
The Oscar-winning soundtrack by film music legend Hans Zimmer has shaped the globally successful animated film “The Lion King” for 27 years now—African rhythms and sounds paired with monumental, epic melodies. Sir Elton John's poignant hits such as "Hakuna Matata," "Circle of Life," and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" are timeless and composed for eternity. There is hardly any other film soundtrack that entire generations associate with as many personal emotions and memories as with Disney's “The Lion King”—the story of the lion cub Simba, who sets out to find his place in the eternal circle of life. The archaic basic structure fascinates for generations. The worldwide success of the musical, based on the film but expanded to include a large number of new songs, led to an indescribable run for the coveted tickets. The additional compositions, which fit perfectly into the iconic film songs, have always radiated a fairy tale magic since their premiere 20 years ago.
Seventy participants, soloists, choir, and orchestra, from the Cinema Festival Symphonics under the direction of Stephen Ellery from London, have already thrilled the audience with concert performances of “Game of Thrones,” “The Music of Star Wars,” and “The Music of Harry Potter." The ensemble is known for their emotional, faithful, powerful sound, which immerses the audience directly into the film's themes. This emotional experience is enriched by artfully drawn screen animations that take the viewer directly into the African savannah. Roaring lions, mighty elephants, playful leopards, and of course the warthog Pumba and the meerkat Timon colorfully illustrate the eternal circle of life.
The songs will be sung in German.
Tickets are CHF 65.20-120.65.
