Franceconcert is proud to present “The Nutcracker" in a new original production of the ballet with orchestra. In this Christmas tale, young Clara is given a nutcracker in the shape of a little man. On a night filled with mysterious magic, the toys, led by the Nutcracker, engage in a fierce battle with the terrible mice in the house. Clara, frightened by the events, decides to face her fears, plunges into battle, and manages to save her beloved Nutcracker. Moved by her courage and full of gratitude, he turns into a fairytale prince and whisks Clara away to a fairytale kingdom.
“The Nutcracker,” a great ballet in two acts, was first performed in December 1892 at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg. To this day, the piece is undoubtedly one of the most frequently performed ballets in the world. The famous music by Tchaikovsky, played by the orchestra, and the virtuosity of the dancers, both underlined by breathtaking sets and costumes, take young and old on a journey.
