The year is 1985—Wham is at the top of the charts and everyone has a mullet. The first mobile phone (the size of a brick) is released and scientists find the wreck of the Titanic. The world hears the name "Microsoft Windows" for the first time and Bob Geldof convinces just about everyone with a name to perform with him to raise millions at Live Aid. And the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain is born.
Celebrate the 40th anniversary of this institution with a rapid sprint through all musical genres: from ABBA to ZZ Top, from Tchaikovsky to Nirvana, from bluegrass to Lady Gaga ,and maybe a spaghetti western thrown in. The ukulele orchestra presents its world tour "with hand luggage" for its 40th anniversary. A witty, quirky, irreverent, magnificent, rousing obituary for rock'n'roll and melodic entertainment, all played on the "bonsai guitar."
