The Wailers are back! Arguably the most famous reggae band on the planet is bringing Jamaican vibes to Pratteln for one summer night only. At the Z7 Summer Nights Open Air, they’ll be celebrating timeless reggae classics non-stop. The setlist reads like the definitive "Best of Bob Marley & The Wailers" compilation.
Together with Marley, The Wailers made reggae history. With over 25 million copies sold, "Legend," the Bob Marley & The Wailers greatest hits compilation, is the most successful reggae album of all time. It spent over 700 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart and is the only album of its kind to appear on the list of the 100 best-selling albums worldwide. Beyond physical sales, The Wailers' music has garnered tens of billions of streams, with nearly 30 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone. The list of hits —"No Woman No Cry," "Is This Love," "Three Little Birds," "Buffalo Soldier," "Redemption Song," "Exodus," "I Shot the Sheriff," "One Love," "Stir It Up," "Could You Be Loved"—reads like a reggae encyclopedia yet transcends the boundaries of reggae. After Marley's untimely death in 1981, it was Aston "Familyman" Barrett who carried on The Wailers and breathed new life into them. Supporting act on this night will be Uncle Frank Island Versions, the duo of Frank Benbini and Naim Cortazzi, who have been making music together for over 25 years. Benbini brings his experience as a member of UB40 featuring Ali Campbell, while Cortazzi complements the sound with creative versatility.
