Theater — A Summer Night’s Dream
Two rulers planning their wedding, four confused young lovers, a quarrelling fairy king and queen, a mischievous supernatural creature, and theater-loving craftsmen—the characters in the enchanted woods surrounding ancient Athens have been igniting the imagination of theater-makers and audiences for centuries. Shakespeare's classic deals with the question of what is illusion and what is reality: Which feelings are real? Antú Romero Nunes and the Basel company seek the answer in the play, in the as-if, and in the theater within the theater within the theater. This fun-packed tragedy will be performed in German with English surtitles (no surtitles for the Première on December 17).
Tickets are CHF 30-70 for adults and CHF 10 for people under age 30.
