Theater Basel Ballet School — Summer Gala

Celebrating 20(+1) years of excellence, the Ballettschule Theater Basel (BTB) Gala is a showcase of young dance talent.
Every year in early summer, the students of the ballet school can demonstrate their skills on the main stage of the theater. The evenings reflect the broad spectrum of the training content of the ballet school and give the young talents the opportunity to gain stage experience.
This year, the BTB is pleased to celebrate and honor Julie and Richard Wherlock for their contribution to the field of dance in Basel, but especially for their contribution to BTB. The evening begins with a Pas de Deux performed by two senior trainees. This is followed by the neoclassical piece “Ambiguous Content,” which premiered in 2016 with the West Australian Ballet and is now being brought to the Basel stage with the ballet school in an adapted form and with a larger cast. The evening concludes with Richard Wherlock's “Rébus,” a modern piece that offers concentrated dance pleasure with dynamics and athleticism.
There will be two performance on this day—an afternoon presentation from 15:00-16:30 and an evening presentation from 19:30-21:00 that will be followed by a Gala party.
Tickets are CHF 35-85 for the afternoon performance and CHF 60-110 for the evening performance, half-price for students.
