Theater—Der Phönix aus der Währung (The Phoenix From the Currency)
“Dangerous composure” is a term used by experienced economists to refer to a period when markets ignore the fact that every upswing is followed by a downswing. The inflationary “boom” is ultimately followed by a “bang,” which in turn triggers the next “crash.” But maybe we are simply living in a period of “temporary warming.” And it is not just non-professionals who increasingly have trouble imagining the values being traded on the financial markets.
In this first work at Theater Basel, author and director Bonn Park combines musical-theatrical elements with the dramatic and sensual moods of the markets. This stock market thriller with music will be performed in German with English surtitles.
Tickets are CHF 30-60 for adults and CHF 10 for those under age 30.
