Tour — Experimental Ecology

Kulturstiftung Basel H. Geiger | KBH.G
Saturday, 07 October
14:00

In the spirit of the famous E.A.T. (Experiments in Art and Technology), an initiative launched in 1967 that paired artists with engineers and thus enabled a new sense of exchange, the project Experimental Ecology offers a contemporary platform for collaborations between artists and scientists in the field of ecology. Five teams will develop novel ways to rethink our impact on the biosphere. The collaborative project was expanded to include the public in the concepts’ collaborative development during a symposium held in the fall of 2022. The resulting projects are now presented in an exhibition and an accompanying catalog to spearhead new ways to understand our relationship with our environment and how art can contribute to environmental debates.
On this afternoon, there will be a public guided tour that offers an input to the five presented projects. Learn how art and science interact with each other and spark a dialogue between the fields. See how humans interact with the environment to shape it and how the environment shapes who we are as humans.
The tour is free of charge; register at info@kbhg.ch.
