Treibstoff Theatertage Basel
“Treibstoff” (Fuel) is a theater festival that gives young, aspiring, German-speaking theater professionals the “fuel” to take off and hopefully launch their careers. Professional, non-established theater artists from Switzerland, Germany, and Austria are invited to submit a project idea in the form of a written concept; from these, a jury selects the most compelling projects. Treibstoff then provides the selected artists or groups with financial backing as well as production support in the areas of infrastructure, technology, and dramaturgy.
This year's 11th edition of the Treibstoff Theatertage (theater days) for the first time will unite three generations of theater and performance artists. Graduates from art schools and artists from past festival editions had the opportunity to apply via an open call. The selection committee chose four premieres of in-house productions as well as two guest performances that will be presented to a broader audience, including theater professionals, at Kaserne Basel, Roxy Birsfelden, or Junges Theater Basel. Visit their website for the complete program and to buy tickets.
Tickets for all productions are CHF 15, irrespective of location and production; you can also buy a festival pass for CHF 45.
