Tribute Nights — Live/Wire
The AC/DC tribute band Live/Wire has been following in the footsteps of the Australian hellish rockers since 2002. The band, based in the Basel region, impresses both musically and visually, making them the most successful AC/DC tribute band in Switzerland. Show elements from the original are also used at their concerts—such as the Hell's Bell, Rosie, or the bagpipes of the Live/Wire Pipe Corps. In their 2-hour show, the band, which now has over 60 titles in its repertoire, not only plays well-known hits, but also rarities for die-hard AC/DC fans and songs that are rarely or never heard live in the original. The five musicians ensure the authentic sound as follows: Däny amazes the audience with his deceptively real Brian Johnson voice. The facial expressions and hat are also reminiscent of the likeable AC/DC frontman. Cello plays the riffs on his Gibson SG to the exact same tone as Angus and, following his example, whirls around the stage in his stylish school uniform. Adi rocks with his Gretsch guitar in the best Malcolm style—sharp-edged and powerful. Ronny is based on the straightforward playing style of drummer Phil Rudd. And Beat, with his four sides, lays a brilliant low-frequency foundation for the Cliff Williams brand.
Tickets are CHF 40 in advance and CHF 50 at the door.
