In this "New Year's Concert" with 60 performers, orchestra, vocal soloists, ballroom dancers, and an entertaining presenter the orchestra of the world-famous Vienna Opera Ball, aims to present the Viennese music of the "Golden Age" and the flair of the Vienna Opera Ball to a wide audience in concert performances. For 24 years, Andreas Spörri, conductor at the Vienna Opera Ball at the Vienna State Opera since 2010, has been conducting the Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra at the successful concerts in the KKL Luzern, which were celebrated with standing ovations, and since 2024 also in the always sold-out Stadtcasino Basel.
The concert program embodies a cheerful and lively feeling of life with exquisite works by members of the Strauss dynasty and by Franz von Suppè, Joseph Hellmesberger, Franz Lehár, and Giacomo Puccini.
