After a four-year break, the fabulous VivaCello Festival is back! This edition, which is called "Furiant," will take place once again in the old town of Liestal with a total of 13 concerts, including atmospheric morning concerts in the Mooi restaurant, after-work concerts in the Kulturscheune, and symphony and chamber concerts in the Stadtkirche that tell of the rich musical culture of Bohemia. The Bohemian dance "Furiant," which means "enthusiastic," sets the standard for the music and protagonists of this festival that is all about the cello.
For this late evening concert, the audience will be treated to the music of cellist Matthias Bartolomey and violinist and mandola player Klemens Bittmann, who take their instruments from the deeply rooted classical tradition to new musical paths. The love for the sound of their instruments and the common passion to create new sounds brings two musicians together. Together with the spontaneity and improvisation of jazz, heavy groove and rock elements can be found in their music as well as intimate ballads and fast, uptempo compositions.
Tickets are CHF 30 for adults, CHF 15 for students, and CHF 5 for accompanying kids up to age 12.
