Since 2007, with a lot of volunteer commitment and passion, Piano di Primo has been organizing jazz concerts that enable artists of national and international importance to introduce the audience to tried and tested musical specialties and novel ideas. They are organizing a few events per year in the Fachwerk building (Allschwil Local History Museum) in the middle of the idyllic village center of Allschwil, where you can spoil yourself with selected wines, a cold beer, or non-alcoholic refreshments from the bar.
Courageous, delicate, and highly musical: Viviane Chassot is one of the world's leading accordionists. In her program, she juxtaposes works by Didier Squiban, Yiruma, Erik Satie, and Ludovico Einaudi with compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach. This selection makes connections and transitions audible. She expands the strictly "classical framework," blending classical music with jazz, folk music, and free improvisation. The dialogues between different eras and works are central, creating a unified whole. Chassot was born in Zürich and now lives and works as a freelance musician in Basel. She received her first accordion lessons at age 12 from Ernst Kaelin, who encouraged her early development in the interpretation of classical polyphonic works on the single-note manual (MIII). In 2006, she completed her studies at the Bern University of the Arts with a Master of Performance and Pedagogy. In addition to her active concert schedule, Chassot gives international masterclasses. She is a lecturer in accordion at the Winterthur Conservatory.
