The dream duo Schaerer and Kalima can now be heard in a new context! They were already successful together with the quartet A Novel of Anomaly; now the unique Swiss vocal acrobat Andreas Schaerer and the equally idiosyncratic Finnish guitarist Kalle Kalima, who has lived in Berlin for a long time, present themselves in Basel as an intimate trio. Their new album "Evolution" is—a first for both of them—a real song album, with the stylistically unique Björn Meyer on bass. Schaerer is more than ever a singer here and uses his typical vocal escapades rather sparingly, Kalima is completely absorbed in a role that supports the message. The unmistakable signature of the two remains, of course, and can be found not least in the lyrics, some of which deal with very personal, intimate thoughts and experiences. And this is often musically more complex than the fluid and catchy character of their songs would suggest at first glance.
