This musical tradition, rarely experienced outside of Japan, offers a unique insight into the spiritual heritage of Japanese Buddhism. In contrast yet in harmony, the beauty of European sacred music resonates with a motet by Johann Sebastian Bach, performed by the Basel-based pourChœur. A special highlight is the contemporary composition “UNITY” by Yury Revich, which has been inspired by both musical traditions.
