Forest Fascination — Trees and Woods in Paintings and Sculptures
"Waldeslust" (Forest Fascination)! — Hardly another subject in art history can match the forest for expressive potential and a concomitant multiplicity of meanings. The exhibition at Forum Würth Arlesheim brings together around 60 significant works from the Würth Collection, from Alfred Sisley to Anselm Kiefer. Changing artistic positions provide insights into the fascination and significance of the forest and trees, both for humans and the visual arts.
A separate forest experience room with sensory impulses enables further individual forest immersion directly on the site. An audio forest walk in the adjacent Reinacher Heide nature reserve builds a bridge to the surrounding area.
