With multi-faceted soundscapes, blunt lyrics, and the velvety-soft voice of singer Kim, We Are Ava process their existence with all its highs, lows, and uncertainties in dreamy, electronic synth-pop. It is the discrepancy between catchy power songs and idiosyncratic fragility that makes the trio, founded in 2018, unique. After their initial national reach with their debut EP “Feel Them Listening” (2019), their debut album “Inner Gardening” followed in September 2021, which landed directly in the top 50 of the Swiss album charts with its mature, poppy, yet disarming sound. The 34.52-minute soul trip earned the eastern Swiss band the Best Crushing Newcomer award (20 Minuten), which was followed by a nomination for the Swiss Music Award of the same name in 2022, as well as Best Emerging Talent from Swiss Live Talents. We Are Ava have also impressed live at almost 100 concerts with their captivating energy and clearly noticeable love of the stage.
In their most recently released music, the band strikes new notes despite synthy flair and surprises with an organic, analog warmth, as well as a pinch of roughness and rawness. Kim's voice seems more mature and settled, her stories have more depth and honesty.
