With Flapping Wings and Ringing Bells — Christmas Angels

Winged heavenly messengers have always been an integral part of the Christmas story: an angel announced the birth of Jesus to Mary, and a choir of angels showed the shepherds the way to the baby Jesus on Christmas night. Angels are known in various religions and cultures. Artists have repeatedly sought to capture their otherworldly form in images. They appear in many forms in paintings, ceiling frescoes, stained glass windows, and as sculptures in churches or cemeteries. Angels appear to herald and praise, and heavenly hosts sing "Gloria in Excelsis Deo" in honor of God.
Angels also play an important role in living rooms at Christmas: They secretly decorate the Christmas tree, and when Santa Claus has brought the presents, the gentle chime of bells rings out. This—like the rustling of angels' wings, perceivable only in the imagination—is one of the sounds that make the Christmas season so magical.
On December 10 from 14:00-18:00, there will be a special children’s face painting with angelic motifs.
