Workshop — Happy Birthday, Globi!
Globi is a Swiss cartoon character originally developed for advertising for the Globus department store—a sort of blue parrot with a yellow beak wearing a black beret and a pair of red and black checkered trousers. Globi is celebrating its 90th birthday this year, and the Spielzeug Welten Museum Basel (Toy Museum) is celebrating with it! Globi is a real jack of all trades—daredevil, happy rascal, and scallywag in one. Along with it, the children can immerse themselves in ever new worlds.
To mark the anniversary, the Spielzeug Welten Museum is showing Globi's development from the Globus advertising character to the present day. Accompany it on it travels and examine how the history of Switzerland has left its mark on his adventures. A look behind the scenes also reveals how the famous books are created. While the big visitors indulge in childhood memories, the little ones get to know Globi’s friends and solve a birthday puzzle.
In conjunction with this anniversary exhibition, all are invited to decorate treasure chests to celebrate the release of the latest Globi book, "Globi und die Ozeane" (Globi and the oceans).
Participation is free; no pre-registration required.
