Yotam Silberstein US Trio / Harsh & Sarahfina

Restaurant Kunsthalle
Thursday, 27 June

Yotam Silberstein, who grew up in Tel Aviv, began playing guitar at age 10, initially concentrating on rock music and blues. At age 15, he was accepted to the Yigal Alon High School for the Arts, where he studied jazz with Walter Blanding and Amit Golan. In 2003, he released his debut album entitled “The Arrival on Fresh Sound New Talent.” The success of the highly acclaimed album enabled him to tour extensively throughout Europe and the Middle East. After receiving a scholarship to study at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City, he performed with numerous great musicians and was involved in recordings for John Patitucci's trio album “Irmaos de Fe,” Monty Alexander's Grammy-nominated “Harlem-Kingston Express Live!” and David Sanborn's & Marcus Miller's “Time & the River.” Silberstein has released further albums under his own name and has performed with his own bands in clubs and at jazz festivals in Europe, Japan, South America, Asia, and the USA.
Harsh Shandilya and Sarahfina Osei are two inseparable friends who built their friendship and musical identity in the halls of a music college. Their journey is steeped in shared experiences and mutual inspiration. Their music can not only be heard, but also felt—they captivate their audience with a flowing alternation between dreamy soundscapes and daring improvisations.
The event will take place in the garden of the Restaurant Kunsthalle.
Tickets are 45.30-59.60 for seats and CHF 29 for standing room.
