Yundi Li, winner of the International Chopin Piano Competition, became the youngest champion and juror in the history of the competition and the first Chinese to win the event. He is the first Chinese pianist to sign with Deutsche Grammophon, the largest classical music company in the world, and the first Chinese pianist to release a live recording with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. He is also the first Chinese to be awarded the Polish "Gloria Artis" cultural medal and the holder of the world's first Chopin passport. On his regular concert tours, he has performed in the most renowned venues, such as Carnegie Hall (New York), Royal Festival Hall (London), Gewandhaus zu Leipzig, Salle Pleyel (Paris), National Centre for Performing Arts (Beijing), Seoul Arts Centre and Suntory Hall (Tokyo) and has played with some of the world’s best-known orchestras and conductors. On this evening, he will be playing solo works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
