Every summer, the Basel Zoo stays open late one night for the “Zolli-Nacht.” They promise an exciting evening for the whole family to observe and learn about the animals, with specialists on hand and many stations set up to provide exciting information about the animals’ behavior, as well as tours and activities for all ages. This year’s special theme is “Tierisch gesund!” (Beastly healthy), where the focus is on prevention being better than cure. The health of zoo animals begins with good animal husbandry and regular health checks. If an animal falls ill, the veterinary team takes care of the patient. Entrance fee is 30% reduced starting at 17:00.
