Have You Turned Off Your Heating?

The weather has finally turned warm again, and heating is no longer needed. However, if you only lower your central heating thermostat without switching it to “Sommer” (summer), to “Aus” (Off), or to the “Hahnen ohne Heizkörper” (Tap without radiator) symbol, your heating system may switch on again automatically, even without your active intervention. Some early mornings still have cool temperatures, and if the heating is not switched off completely, the outside probe can register the morning cold and start the boiler. In most cases, however, this is unnecessary because the building is already sufficiently warm, and the cold at daybreak is quickly compensated for by the warming sun. Therefore, to avoid wasting energy and incurring unnecessary costs, make sure to manually turn off your heating.
