Movie Camps for Kids and Teens
Is your kid or teen interested in making movies? For the seventh time, the non-profit organization filmkids.ch, in cooperation with Innovative EYE, will be organizing film camps (in German) for kids ages 8-20 during the Easter school holidays, from April 3-8. But you need to register before March 1!
The goal is for kids to participate in a movie crash course and produce their own short films. There will be four different camps held during that week, all held under the direction of film professionals:
- Kids up to age 12 can participate in a “Junior camp.” where they will do a variety of exercises to learn the basics of filmmaking.
- Youth up to age 20 can participate in the “Movie camp,” where they will have a few compact theoretic classes on filmmaking, before they are “thrown into the deep end” to make their own films
- New, they are also offering an “Acting camp” for kids from age 10, teens, and young adults interested in acting. There will be intensive classes in acting, movement, and speaking. There will be castings to get a part in one of the Movie Camp films or a theater play.
- Kids who have previously participated in a movie camp can also register for a “Media camp”, where a small team under the guidance of a mentor will be in charge of producing a “making-of” video as well as social media clips for TikTok and Instagram.
All movies created during the camps will be shown in a public premiere gala in a cinema.
All camps run from April 3-7; the location is to be determined but will likely be in Muttenz. The movies will then be shown on April 8.
