The Eurovision Song Contest will dominate the cultural scene in Basel and Switzerland in May 2025. Because the LIEDBasel international art song festival loves songs so much and have been infected by the competition fever, they have joined forces with other song festivals (Heidelberger Frühling, Liedstadt, Schubertíada, Leeds Lieder) to promote young artists, inviting them to reinterpret the art song with innovative and creative concepts. They will be presenting the first Art Song Challenge (ASC) in 2025, which will promote innovative, interdisciplinary, and unconventional approaches in the field of art song and aims to make this important musical genre accessible. They are looking for musicians who want to present art songs in an artistically challenging and fresh way. They are currently collecting video submissions of songs performed by professional musicians from all  over the world. Deadline to submit video entries is April 15, 2025. The best submissions will be awarded top-class concert performances at the five partner festivals—with an award of €1,000 per person plus travel expenses.
