In 2026, the Stadtcasino Basel celebrates its 200th anniversary and the legendary concert hall, world-renowned for its outstanding acoustics, marks its 150th anniversary. These two anniversaries provide an opportunity to not only look back, but above all, invite everyone to celebrate together.
For three days, the Stadtcasino Basel will open its doors for a grand, diverse, and accessible anniversary weekend. The entire concert hall will be transformed into a vibrant meeting place with music, dance, discussions, exhibitions, guided tours, culinary delights, and a program that extends far beyond the traditional concert format. The anniversary celebration is for everyone: music lovers and the curious; regular patrons and a new, younger audienc;, families; night owls; and culture enthusiasts. Together, they will celebrate the Stadtcasino Basel as a stylish venue, a place of community service—and the heart of Basel's cultural landscape.

Friday, June 12: History, Insights & Grand Anniversary Night
The opening event is dedicated entirely to the building and its history. During the day, exhibitions, guided tours, lectures, and panel discussions invite visitors to get to know the Stadtcasino Basel from new perspectives—from architecture and acoustics to music history, monument preservation, and urban development, as well as through social and cultural discourses.
In the evening, the concert hall transforms into a big anniversary party venue: There will be three dance floors with different musical worlds (club with DJs / ballroom dancing / stage with live bands). Lounges and food options will be set up in the foyers and outdoor area to provide a festive setting for dancing, celebrating, and meeting.

Saturday, June 13: Clear the Stage for the Region
Saturday is dedicated to musical diversity. Throughout the day, visitors can expect numerous short musical treats presented by orchestras, institutions, and organizers from the region. Different styles, formats, and ensembles transform the venue into a vibrant sonic journey. And the building can also be explored during an exciting guided tour over the weekend. Around the Stadtcasino Basel, important regular customers and partners will also be presenting themselves at stands and inviting visitors to exchange ideas.
In the evening it's Open Stage! Young artists are given the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of an audience—an inspiring end to the day and a glimpse into the musical future.

Sunday, June 14: Music, Games & Togetherness
Sunday is also dedicated to musical discoveries. Short concerts and performances will once again provide variety and surprises throughout the building. Partners and regular customers will be present again, offering insights into their work. A special highlight for young and old alike is the games afternoon—with board games, playful "casino" elements (in cooperation with the Grand Casino Basel!), and opportunities to participate, the Stadtcasino Basel becomes a place for shared experiences, relaxed, intergenerational and open.
