Apocalyptica Plays Metallica Vol. 2

Thirty years ago, a completely unknown band from Finland appeared on the music scene, captivating both classical and metal fans. With their album "Apocalyptica Plays Metallica by Four Cellos," classically trained musicians from the far North unleashed a furious performance on stage. Headbanging and playing the cello simultaneously was something the music world had never seen before. The concept was continually expanded. Soon, three cellos and a drum kit were on stage at concerts. With guest vocalists, they covered other bands and eventually composed their own songs. In 2024, however, they returned to their roots and released the album "Apocalyptica Plays Metallica Vol. 2." This work continues the journey that began in 1996 when cellists from the world-renowned Sibelius Academy in Helsinki created their symphonic homage to the metal titans Metallica. Apocalyptica's 10th album holds several surprises. For example, the breathtaking reinterpretation of one of Metallica's greatest musical moments, the song "One" from the milestone album "And Justice for All." Furthermore, James Hetfield and Rob Trujillo also make guest appearances on the new Apocalyptica album. With this release, Apocalyptica have once again outdone themselves.
To the delight of their fans, the band is playing exclusively Metallica songs on their current tour. The unleashed cello-driven metal musicians with a best-of-Metallica set promises a wild summer night in the Roman amphitheater at Augusta Raurica.
Tickets are CHF 79.50.
