This year’s Schachfestival (chess festival) Basel will include a First Class Open tournament (<1800 Elo Fide Standard), an Experts Open (Max 1900 Elo Fide Standard) tournament, and a Blitz Open tournament. There will be six rounds in each tournament (seven rounds in the Blitz Open), after which a total of CHF 11,000 in prize money will be awarded.
The tournament offers a great opportunity to compete or observe some of the world’s chess masters.
